The Haiduk Republic of Mijat Tomić was established on 5thJune 2002 as a democratic and independent republic of haiduks (rebels against the Ottoman rule, brigands).
The capital, the centre of power and the seat of authority is at the Hajdučke Vrleti.
The borders of the Hajduk Republic encompass its sovereign territory from the highest peak of the Vran Mountain to St. Anthony’s Chapel, and to the Risovac – Kedžara intersection.

The atmosphere around the commemoration of significant Republic dates
Founding of political parties and any political engagement shall be prohibited in the Republic, as such activity endangers the legal order and people’s health.

Legal order shall be guarded ad protected by the elite haiduk guard. The Republic shall have its own currency, Constitution, flag, anthem, and passport.

The currency shall be the kubur (holster pistol), however, the Haiduk Republic shall also accept any currency gained honestly or snatched from thieves and tycoons. The anthem of the Mijat Tomić’s Republic shall be the ganga folk song St. Anthony, I will pay a mass for you, just tell me who is not of our lot.

Citizens can do whatever they please, and the best place to spend their earnings is the Hajdučke Vrleti restaurant.
